Daily Fishing and Outdoor Report

Picking at the bass around the inlet and surf on plastic when you can get it past the blues. Haven't seen much in the way of baitfish.

T- i was on jetty Monday saw a guy spear a 25lb to 30lb striper 15 feet from rocks. We only caught blues.

I know a couple guys been getting some decent fish off the south jetty. The bass always hug the rocks along there. I don't do that rock hopping any more, getting too old, even gave my korkers away. Got 10 shorts this morning on plastics along some groins. All very small, including a new record small for me at 7 1/2 inches! Blues weren't so bad today.

I've been reading your site as I know you're out all the time. That's what I like about this site. The old site just posts emails. Here everybody's a Jay Mann. The spearfisherman i saw said there was a load of bass along the rocks. I spoke to another guy last night who released a 34lber caught on black bomber 1/2 way out. Have nice day. Bill

Got 1 about 24" this morning then the blues showed up. Did manage a 19" fluke on a zoom under the blues. Would have been nice to keep for dinner but have to wait a few more days. One of those spear guys got one around 50# last year along the rocks.

Way less in the number and size of the blues. Lots of snot and eel grass inside around low tide.
