While there I…

(ABOVE: FROM JINGLES WESITE – A SHOT-DEAD BEAUTIFUL FLUKE – and don’t give me that ”unfair” crap. You try jumping in the water, diving down, seeking and locating a fish to get a one-time shot at it – as opposed to drifting lazily along in a boat wating for a fish to latch.…

Simply Bassin' Message from Jingles Bait and Tackle

SIMPLY BASSING 2012

It has been an interesting year for Simply Bassing.

First I would like to thank all of you that signed up for this annual contest. This year was one of the highest amount of anglers that we have ever registered for this contest at Jingles Bait and Tackle.

It was a year were bunker were not in abundance for anglers to snag and fish them live. It was a year to just…

An update of sorts --

Why won’t this storm let us be? Looking at the radar, just to our west are more deep orange and red splotches, headed our way. Oddly, all this stormage has been training north instead of going directly eastward and out to sea. That’s a suckacious set-up, leading to storm cell after storm cell.

There are actually so many things happening in the area I can’t even keep track of all the emergency transmissions…

Storm update 3:30 pm

UPDATE: Between the road flooding and the emergency vehicles, Ship Bottom south is screwed up royally – coming and going. Don’t even add to the mess by trying to get out. Crews are now out on the Causeway placing some better-late-than-never cones.

Stormy Friday

If anyone has any observational reports I can pass onto the Weather Service, please  let me know -- particularly impassable roads or vehicles stuck in flooded areas.  jmann99@hotmail.com.

Friday, June 22, 2012: I hope everyone quickly realized this midday thunderboomer was not to be messed with.

Of course, highly trained personnel like myself were able to sit on the deck of a three-story building and cheer on the astounding lightning show over the…

News for June 18

[seafoodnews.com] June 19, 2012

The International Seafood Sustainability Foundation (ISSF) has released its position statement in advance of the 83rd Meeting of the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC) in La Jolla, California next week.

The position includes a call for a reduction in catches for bigeye tuna in the region, which is being overfished. ISSF also advocates for a catch limit, determined by each species stock evaluation and productivity, placed on the…
