Thur. oct 30, 08: Sure looks good out there

GREATLY APPRECIATED: It’s that annual humbling time when I seek donations to keep this site running through the coming year. I have no sponsors -- outside those who read and support the site. This is my only fund-drive. Any and all donations go toward the website. And financial support is needed.

Wed. Oct 29, 08 --- Blues cruisin' by; Greg's bass tale

Wednesday, October 29, 2008:

Check out Greg’s details of his tourney-leading bass (below update)

Big blues continue to make their presence known, north to south. The slammers are going to those surfcasters displaying the most perseverance. Chunk baits work best. Plugs and metals aren’t cutting it since the blues are scattered pods and not blitzers.

I got word of some real decent bassing, South End. Seems plugs and even spoons are working. Liveline-ables are… Continue

Oct. 28, 08 -- Weekly Blog -- Warm Grabs and Fungi

Grab a Warm Fungus

GRAB A WARM ONE: In the current issue of the journal “Science,” Yale University psychologists seem to have our personalities well in-hand. They have discovered the cup of java you’re holding can affect how you interact with those around you. (This advanced study further confirms that scientists – once heavily funded -- have just about the most fun lives out there.)

So, get this: If you’re simply holding (not even necessarily drinking) a cup of warm anything,… Continue

22 Oct

Fished from sunrise to sunset , sat there in hope that I'd even tie into a skate, nothing but the wind at my back trying to blow me off my seat. Fished bunker, clam and threw a medal out on occassion. I hate getting skunk. Will try again this weekend. Pat

Oct 21, 08 -- Weekly blog

OUT OF SIGHT AND ON-LINE: I’m consider myself kinda up with the times. To their credit, computers keep my veins surging with electrical energy and a hard-drive youngishness. But I saw another less sanctimonious side to the Computer Age last week.

I sidled up to a buggy where a fellow I know was inside on one of the latest cell phones. He had two fishing rods spiked near the low-tide water’s edge. Looking in, I realized he was doing real time Internet communicating.. I offered a “Hey.” He… Continue

Monday Oct 13, 08: major bluefish takes; one huge striepr

Report from angler: "Nothing to tell really. 41-10lbs, 46.5" North end 7am outgoing on homemade yellow pencil. Not a spot that anyone doesn't know about. The fishing for the last 3 days has been really bad. If it wasn't for that fish we would have gotten skunked along with everyone else that we saw fishing. I guess that was 99% luck which is the way fishing can be sometimes. My son and brother left today, I am here few more days, and don't feel… Continue
