By JAY MANN | Feb 28, 2013

Those cool names arrive via Native Americans, including…Continue

Monday, February 25, 2013: Nice out – for the moment.
It might just be me and my wobbliness over the impacts from this fall and winter but fair weatheredness sure doesn’t seem to hang around very long of late. There is definitely the gun shyness factor,…Continue

J, Have you walked the wood line on the mainland? So much personal items/debris it is stagering. Lots of everthing you could possibly imagine. The chemicals are cause for concern. Weed killers, oils, ani freeze, acetone, paint cans the list is endless. Plenty of floating docks, sheds, roofs, mail boxes, stairs, lumber, life jackets, boat bumpers, Any idea if this will be addressed? I know peoples homes and buisnesses are priority one. But this will have to be addressed at some point. Maybe the…Continue

Friday, February 22, 2013: I’m on one of those tazmo runs – tons to do and no time to do same. It all stems from the big fix. I apologize for laps in entries here but anyone suffering from Post Sandy Stress Syndrome can relate. And as I've noted, I’m well ahead of the curve when it comes to getting my life back on path. Now if I could only find some familiar landmarks ...
If you happened to…Continue

Monday, February 18, 2013: Damn, that was one cold-ass night we just had. Sure, there had been some lower temps this winter but add in the gale wind (all frickin’ night long) and I guarantee more pipes froze last night than during all previous frigid nights.
I came that…Continue

If it ain’t one thing it’s a dozen or more. I’m slowly recovering after accidently taking some codeine. Yes, it was highly accidental since I’m a one-in-20 soul dangerously allergic to the stuff. I went wretched for so long, I…Continue

Monday, February 11, 2013: Sure, it’s a fully shot day, sky-wise, but it’s just what the street cleanup doctor ordered. The unhealthy dose of street salt that was laid down to cover our flirting with…Continue

Friday, Feb. 8, 2013: We have already dodged a .45-caliber snow bullet. By midday alone, we would have had over 20 inches of snow had the rain been white. That's based on well over an 1.5 inches of rain in my gauge. And the storm is just winding up off the coast.
Hey, I know how many snow freaks are out there but the good thing for those snow eagles is they'll…Continue
